Avengers: Age of Ultron Scores Massive $27.6 Million In Late Night Screenings

Marvel debuted their highly awaited action thriller adventure sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron overseas, and the superhero movie also opened yesterday with late-night screenings in the U.S.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron opening night box office was excellent and made a huge impact. Variety reports that the film raked in $27.6 million from opening night screenings. This is the biggest debut for any Marvel movie ever! This whopping $27.6 million Thursday figure soars above the previous Marvel preview highs, specifically The Avengers ($18.7 million), Iron Man 3 ($15.6m), and Guardians of the Galaxy ($11.2m).

Nevertheless, Age of Ultron is already speeding towards breaking The Avengers’ all-time opening weekend of $207 million. Age of Ultron has already surpassed The Avengers’ Thursday night opening numbers by nearly $9 million.

Internationally, the film is unstoppable and has already made $300 million, and the weekend for Avengers: Age of Ultron looks greater than Marvel predicted.

However, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 holds the title of highest-grossing Thursday night opener with $43.5 million. The Dark Knight Rises and three of the Twilight Saga installments fill out the proceeding slots with numbers circling $30 million, and Age of Ultron’s numbers give the film the fifth top spot.
