The Connection (2015) Movie Trailer 2

With a class and plenty of intensity, the full theatrical trailer for the French crime thriller The Connection has just arrived, and it's simply excellent.

Touted as the European side to the American classic The French Connection, the foreign film was picked up by Drafthouse Films to get a limited release this summer, and once you see this trailer for the film starring Oscar winner Jean Dujardin, you'll see why the cinephile distribution house wanted to get as many people to see it as possible.

This looks like the kind of crime thriller they don't make anymore, with a vibe that calls back to the 70s filmmaking. Here's the new trailer for Cédric Jimenez's The Connection, originally from Yahoo:

The film was inspired by the events of the French Connection in the 1970s, starring Jean Dujardin as police magistrate Pierre Michel and Gilles Lellouche as Gaëtan "Tany" Zampa, a drug gang ringleader.

The Connection stars Jean Dujardin as Pierre Michel, Gilles Lellouche, Céline Sallette, Mélanie Doutey and Guillaume Gouix.

Plot:
"Newly transferred to the bustling port city of Marseille to assist with a crackdown on organized crime, energetic young magistrate Pierre Michel (Dujardin) is given a rapid-fire tutorial on the ins and outs of an out-of-control drug trade. Pierre’s wildly ambitious mission is to take on the French Connection, a highly organized operation that controls the city’s underground heroin economy and is overseen by the notorious — and reputedly untouchable — Gaetan Zampa (Gilles Lellouche of Mesrine: Killer Instinct). Fearless, determined and willing to go the distance, Pierre plunges into an underworld world of insane danger and ruthless criminals."

Drafthouse Films has The Connection scheduled to land in theaters on May 15.
