There will be another installment in the "Fast & Furious" street racing action franchise. Vin Diesel has announced that Furious 8 will hit theaters April 14 2017. It will be the second in the series without Paul Walker, who died during the filming of "Furious 7". Walker did not appear in the third installment, "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" (2006).
The news was revealed during the Universal’s CinemaCon presentation. "We’re going to make the best movie you’ve ever seen," said Diesel.
The seventh entry in the franchise has already broken box office records worldwide, nabbing more than $1.1 billion globally so far.
The plot is still kept under wraps. But according to a few sources, most of the new sequel will take place in New York City.
The official title of F&F 8 hasn’t been revealed yet. Stay tuned for more info and release dates!
